Diamond Leads Tanzanian Sweep in AEAUSA Nominations

Leading Tanzanian singers have received a majority of nominations for this year’s Africa Entertainment Awards based in the USA.

Diamond Platnumz will battle it with other top African musicians in the Best Male Artist of the Year. The category also has Wizkid, Eddy Kenzo, Shatta Wale, Stone Boy, Davido, Burna Boy, and Fally Ipupa.

Diamond’s 'Yope remix' with Innos B has also been nominated under the Best Remix of the year. He will battle out with Chris Brown and Davido for the ‘Blow My Mind’ song.

Under the Best Female category, Tanzania’s Nandy will battle it out with Tiwa Savage, Yemi Alade, Sho Madjozi, Aya Nakamura, Zahara, and Sha Sha.

Tanzania has also received a nod under the Best Video category with Diamond’s ‘Jeje’ receiving a nomination. Additionally, ‘Kainama’ by Harmonize, Diamond, and Burna Boy has also received a nomination under the same category.

Under the Entertainer of the Year, Diamond has been nominated alongside Harmonize, Rayvanny, Burna Boy, Yemi Alade, and Eddy Kenzo.

The dominance by the WCB team continues with Zuchu’s nomination under the Best New Artists. Under the Best Male Artist East, South, and North Africa, Alikiba, Harmonize, Diamond, and Rayvanny have been nominated.

They will face off with Eddy Kenzo, The Ben, and Bruce Melodie. The African Entertainment Awards, USA has been in existence since 2015. The event is usually held annually in New Jersey where 30 awards are presented during the two-day event. This year’s awards will be held on December 12th.
