Fast-rising Ugandan artiste Crysto Panda announced his entry into the music in 2018 with a jam titled 'Asht' featuring Rwanda's The Ben and dancehall singer Beenie Gunter.

The song did not perform to his expectation, but he did not give up on his dream to pursue music as a career.

His major breakthrough came early this year after he released 'Kyoyina Omanya' that caught the attention of music lovers across the country.

Unlike many artistes who complained and decried the lock down, Crysto Panda says it was a blessing in disguise because he gained more fans as music lovers watched him on TV during virtual concerts.

"Every time I kneel down, I thank God for lock down, the entire COVID situation. Not in bad faith, but if Corona had not come, you guys would not have given me attention,” he said.

Crysto Panda went viral with his hit single 'Kyoyina Omanya' that trended during lock down.

According to him, though he is not currently earning crazy money from the song, he believes he’ll be invited to more shows once the country is fully re-opened.

"I can't deny that it was a breakthrough for me. All I can say is I'm thankful because my journey started on TV, people started hyping me. I got the reception I never expected," he said.

The song caught the attention of top Ugandan singer Sheebah Karungi who jumped on the remix, making it more popular.
