Fast rising Nigerian rapper Laycon was on Sunday night declared the winner of the Big Brother Naija (BBN) season 5.

Laycon was the fans' favorite from the start and he was tipped to emerge the winner after 70 days of the competition.

He beat other contestants among them Nengi, Vee, Neo and Dorothy to scoop the grand prize which was 85 million naira.

Here are some of the things you need to know about Laycon:

Laycon's real name is Olamilekan Moshood Agbeleshe. He was born on 8 November, 1993 and is currently aged 26.

He was born and raised in Lagos State, Nigeria while his family background is from Bajuwen, Odeda, Ogun State.

Apart of being a reality TV star, a status he has gained with the win at BBN, Laycon is also a singer, songwriter and rapper, a talent he discovered while still young.

Laycon in 2019 signed into Fierce Nation record label after which he released Reminisce and Chinko Ekun-assisted single "Fierce" off his second EP titled 'Who Is Laycon?'.

A few weeks ago, on 28 August 2020, Laycon released "Senseless" while he was still at BBN.

It's during his time at BBN that Laycon arguably gained popularity. He became the first housemate of the season to be verified on Instagram.

He also became the first housemate in the show history to reach 1 million followers on Instagram while still in the house.

In his musical career, Laycon has two mixtapes all released in 2019 - 'Any Given Monday (The Playlist)' and 'Any Given Monday II).

He also has two EP's: 'Young Black and Gifted' released in 2016 and the 2019-released 'Who is Laycon?'.
