Real name Adedamola Adefolahan, Fireboy DML Nigeria is a singer and songwriter signed to YBNL, a Nigerian record label founded by renowned Yoruba indigenous rapper, singer and songwriter, Olamide.

Fireboy DML Nigeria's first introduction to music was in his childhood years when he was a member of his church choir in Abeokuta, Ogun State, Southwest Nigeria. His interest in music grew when he was schooling at the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun State. He went on to harness his talent and newfound interest and started writing songs. He released a number of cover songs online and also freestyle with free beats he downloaded on the internet.

His hit single Jealous was first released in 2018 as part of YBNL’s collaboration album titled YBNL Mafia. The record was re-released in March 2019 and soon became a mega-hit record, topping charts and becoming the unofficial lover's anthem in the country for the time.
After the Cracker Mallo produced hit single. “Jealous”, Fireboy DML Nigeria followed up the success with “What If I Say” produced by renowned Nigerian hitmaker, Pheelz. Released on the 14th of June 2019, “What If I Say” replicated the success of his previous single “Jealous” and officially announced Fireboy DML Nigeria as an artist to watch out for. Months after, he would go on to release his third hit single, “King” building anticipation for his debut album “LTG” short for Laughter, Tears and Goosebumps which arrived on the 29th of November 2019.

Laughter, Tears and Goosebumps, the youngster’s debut, housed thirteen tracks with no features. The project housed hit songs like Vibration, Scatter, Like I Do and Need You. His earlier singles What If I Say and King were also included in the album.

Barely a year after his debut album, Fireboy DML Nigeria released his sophomore project, “APOLLO”, a seventeen-track album which features Olamide, Wande Coal and D Smoke. Ever since he has grown to become an internationally recognized artist.

His single “Peru” which featured Ed Sheeran in the remix dominated the Afrobeats chart and became a global hit. The new hit record paved the way and built anticipation for his third studio album, Playboy. The album houses fourteen tracks with a number of features with Chris Brown, Asake, Shenseea and Ed Sheeran making the cut.
Since 2019, the music star has had more than eight awards to his name. He has won The Headies for Best Pop Album and Best R&B Album and also the Most Promising Act of the year award at the City People Awards in 2019. His hit song “Jealous” also won the Listener’s Choice award at the Soundcity MVP Awards Festival in 2019.

The singer ranks among the most influential and successful African musicians on the global front. He has expanded his influence beyond the borders of Nigeria thanks to his viral hitsongs.
