The commercial success of Fireboy's song 'Peru' remix featuring British pop artist Ed Sheeran keeps soaring.

The hit has been very successful both in the United States and internationally and has defied competition to remain at the top of the Billboard Afrobeats Chart for the past six weeks. @edonchart, a Twitter account dedicated to sharing Ed Sheeran's chart performances shared the recent update.

“With 6 non-consecutive weeks atop Billboard Afrobeats Song Chart, Peru are now tied with "Love Nwantiti (Ah Ah Ah)" by Ckay as the longest-running #1 on the format's history! @edsheeran is the only western Act to ever achieve this!” read the tweet.

‘Peru’ remix was a social media sensation days after its release. The song became an instant hit in the UK. It has been at the top of the rankings ever since it was released and even held the number one spot in the Trending section of YouTube for a very long period.

After only one week since its debut, it amassed 10 million views. This marked a new milestone for Fireboy. The most significant piece of development about the remix is that the song has overtaken Adele's "Easy on me" on the London Apple Music Chart. It became the first song from Nigeria to ever accomplish this feat.
