On this week’s round up we give you the tea on how the 2024 Grammy Awards went down as the star studded event was full of surprises, amazing performances and great wins for our artists. Nigeria’s very own Burna Boy made history by being the first Afro Fusion artist to perform at the Grammys and boy did he deliver. While performing Sitting on Top of the World, a song from his latest album featuring 21 Savage, the singer brought out Brandy to join them on stage which was an iconic moment as the song samples Brandy’s Top of the world. Another Historic moment was made after the Grammys introduced a new African category for Best African Music Performance that saw Tyla receiving an award for her song Water. Other nominees on this category were Burna Boy for his City Boys song, Davido and Musa keys for Unavailable, Asake and Olamide for Amapiano and Ayra Starr for Rush. I Told Them by Burna Boy and Timeless by Davido were also up for nomination in the Global Music Album category but did not manage to clinch this one. We are extremely proud of our African Artist for the moves they have been making to get the recognition and involvement by the recording academy as this is the first step to more of such moments.
