From music to fashion, events and celebrity news we have the juiciest tea brewing for you to keep you in the know. News kicking us off this week on CelebriTea, is that after much speculation, Davido and his wife Chioma have finally announced that they welcomed a set of twins a baby boy and baby girl. In a now-viral video, Chioma is shown cuddling two infants while seated in a wheelchair next to her joyful, beaming husband Davido.
Last week, rumors that they had welcomed twins were making the rounds online, but Davido asked his followers to stop spreading false information because they were using old pictures from the hospital where their late son Ifeanyi was born. Following the tragic loss of their son in a pool at the couple's Lagos home while they were gone, the birth of the twins brings the pair newfound joy. The video has elicited congratulatory messages from friends, fans and well wishers and we too at Mdundo are extremely elated by the news and wish them all the best.
Back in Kenya, Kibera fashion week was held over the weekend and it was a display of great talent and creativity that was a brilliant celebration of culture.
A culmination of the weeks long event ended in style on October 14th with a 6 hours long fashion show event that showcased 11 designer’s projects and 20 models on the runway. The event that attracted hundreds of people from all over was organized by Kenyan fashion designer, David Avido who hails from Kibera, in partnership with Goethe institute Kenya, Nairobi Design and EUNIC Kenya.
According to Avido, the event was curated to show the fashionable side of Kibera as opposed to the post election violence side that always draws more attention. True to the celebration of Nairobi’s culture, the runway was placed 3 meters high over very cool public service vehicles with graffiti commonly known as “nganya”. This is the second edition of Kibera fashion week and hopefully we’ll get to experience more. That’s it on this weeks round up, for more on what’s trending visit www.mdundo.com.
