This year we kick off Labor Day with a splash of color by giving you a glimpse into the ins and outs of white collar corporate workers, hands on blue collar heroes, red-collar lifesavers, yellow-collar sunshine spreaders, and gold-collar visionaries. Each hue tells a tale and we’re here to shine a spotlight and celebrate them for the role they play in this Labor Day Job Collar series.

Today we focus on the Red Collar category mostly associated with individuals dedicated to public service and safety. Originating from the vivid hues of emergency services uniforms, the term "red collar" has come to symbolize the courageous and indispensable roles fulfilled by those in Government services, law enforcement, firefighting, emergency medical services, and related fields. These designations highlight the critical nature of the tasks undertaken by individuals in these professions, who routinely confront high-stakes situations and make split-second decisions to protect lives and maintain order in communities.
