"The AFCON games are still ongoing as various teams battle it out on the group stages. Three matches were scheduled for January 14th as part of the Group A team and Group B were expected to play. Nigeria and Equatorial Guinea set the ball rolling for the day giving their fans an impressive game. Salvador set off on the front foot scoring the first goal for Equatorial Guinea 36 minutes in which was followed by a score from Victor Osimhen for the Nigerian team at 38 minutes into the game. The match ended with a draw score.
Egypt and Mozambique were next in line ushering in the Group B teams. Egypt started off the game with a hard jump as Mostafa Mohamed scored the first goal 2 minutes in to the game. After the second half Mozambique took the lead scoring their first goal by Witi and their second by Clesio Bauque at 55 and 58 minutes respectively. Egypt was saved with a last minute penalty scored by Salah ending the game with a draw score of 2 goals.
Ghana and Cape Verde the remaining Group B teams were the last match of the day. Cape Verde took the lead with an effortless first score by Jairo Monterio in the first half. Ghana relentlessly tried to prove themselves throughout the game and were fortunate enough to score their first goal in the second half period.
