I don’t mean to brag but it’s another year down and African music is still running the show and topping the charts. The African music scene in 2023 has been characterized by a sonic rollercoaster with vibrant sounds showcasing our diverse culture and being captivating enough to the rest of the world to earn us more international recognition and collaborations. From the Grammys and Billboard Music awards nominations and wins to sold out performances in venues across the globe and the most historic of all Tiwa Savage’s performance during the King’s coronation it is pretty evident that Afrobeats has made its mark on the world and is here to stay. We are about to give a rundown of top ten African songs of 2023 ranging from Afrobeats, Amapiano and sounds from East Africa which pretty much had the whole world on chokehold and got everyone dancing.
