Known for their unmatched brutality, fierceness and patriotism, the warriors take on a foreign enemy whose mission is to destroy the culture and traditions in Dahomey Kingdom.

Four-time Oscar award winner Viola Davis plays the character of General Nanisca. She played a huge role in the success of the movie as the storyline was centered around her. Given the fact that the movie is based on true events, the accuracy of the characters to fit into the historical framework was critical.
