Chris Brown '11:11' Album (Review)

With the delicate RnB tune of Angel Numbers playing, the opening track of 11:11 sets the mood and extends an invitation to its listeners into an auditory expedition of the album. 11:11 is Chris Brown’s latest masterpiece, his 11th studio album with 22 solid tracks divided into 2 categories, Disk 1 from song 1 to 11 and Disk 2 from song 12 to 22. Chris Brown decided to explore a mix of genres such as RnB, Afrobeat, Pop and Dancehall going in hard with themes of Love and Romance. With 11:11 we get to see Chris Brown featuring artists such as Davido, Lojay, Future, Maete, Fridayy and Byron Messiah while also going ahead to involve Hitmaka in the production process and Sean Kingston in co-writing among others. The sampled tracks on the album were pretty impressive as well from Press me to Moonlight but the one that caught everyone’s attention was Shooter where Chris Brown samples music from a young South African girl, Naledi Aphiwe. From start to finish, the album’s production is top tier and the arrangement of the songs is well structured to keep the listener hooked for 67 minutes. Tracks that stood out for me were Sensational with the Afrobeat Vibe, Shooters with the catchy beat and my personal favorite Stutter with the old school RnB sound.
