On the 10th of February 2023,
AKA was gunned down outside a restaurant in Florida road, in Durban; alongside his former manager and long-time friend and author Tibz

Leaving behind his daughter Kairo Forbes.

A CCTV footage of what is believed to be his last moments was released…
The footage shows AKA embracing someone, a person who appears to be a friend.

He shakes hands with the person before glancing over his shoulder down the street.

Then he turns to his group before a man wearing a white sweater and hat sprints up to him, and opens fire on him and his crew.

In April 2021, AKA lost his fiancé, Nelli Tembe, to a tragic death, when she fell from the 10th floor of The Pepperclub Hotel in Loop Street, Cape Town.
