The past weekend has been a buzz of activities and if you did not get a chance to catch up on it well worry not because I am here to bring you up to speed on what’s been trending.

Kicking us off is the Walker Town experience that was held in Nairobi bringing together three superstars Fally Ipupa from Congo, Tiwa Savage from Nigeria and Kenya’s very own Nyashinski to headline and deliver an exhilarating performance. In addition to the three, the attendees were also treated to performances by Boutross, Vijana Baru Baru, the South African female Dj duo TxC and a line up of Kenya’s finest DJs. The event was truly one that gave the attendees a memorable experience from the performances, to the DJ set and the lively fireworks display showcasing top-notch organization.

Over in Tanzania singer and songwriter Zuchu was whisked away from stage after fan hit her with an object while performing during the Wasafi festival VIP pre-party. The singer was forced to stop her performance as her bouncers moved her to safety. Zuchu was however not hurt as she was able to perform at the Wasafi Festival giving fans a sexually thrilling performance with Diamond Platnumz despite having denied claims of them being together.

And in Nigeria, Apple Music has revealed 5 fastest rising Nigerian artists on its platform. The list includes artists such as hip hop star Odumodublvck, street hop sensation Seyi Vibes, Gospel artist Victor Thompson, Shallipopi and Bayanni. With Afrobeat fast rising success, more artists are expected to gain global recognition.
