Born on June 27, 1994, Godson Ominibie Epelle is a Nigerian dancehall, songwriter, singer and producer better known by his stage name 1da Banton. He is presently a member of Squareball Entertainment Records, run by Adasa Cookey- who is a director of music videos, photographer, director of commercials, colourist, and filmmaker.

1 Da Banton's music is a distinctive fusion of afrobeat, reggae, dancehall, and local rhythms from Port Harcourt in the Nigerian state of Rivers, where he was born.

In July 2017, Squareball Entertainment released 1da Banton's debut EP, "The Banton," marking his debut in the music business. He received a lot of attention when his song "Way Up" was selected as the Big Brother Naija 2018 eviction theme song. His subsequent single, "Jowo," featured a novel, velvety tone that enchanted his listeners.
