ABOUT IDOWEST

Real name Adekunle Idowu, Idowest is a Nigerian singer, rapper and songwriter born and raised in Lagos State, southwest Nigeria. He was born on the 2nd of November 1992. He went to Isale Eko Grammar School where he obtained the West Africa School Certificate.

Idowest started his career perfoming in local events in Lagos. He was a member of a music trio known as the MAFIA. The group was made up of Abram Soul, C Black and himself. The released a couple of songs together before naturally disbanding to pursue their individual careers.
In June 2017, he signed to P4 Music owned by one Mr Sodiq but he would soon leave the label six months later to join Dammy Krane’s label Worldstar Inc. After a short spell with Dammy Krane’s Worldstar Inc, the rapper joined Davido Music Worldwide. His single Omo Shepeteri featuring Dammy Krane and Slimcase earned him a nomination for the Best Street Hop Artist category at the 2018 Headies Awards.

On the 29th of March 2019, Idowest who prides himself as the King of Shaku Shaku released his debut project tagged Mafia Culture Volume 1. The project which came in the form of an extended playlist housed seven tracks and features Davido Music Worldwide affiliate, Yonda and former group member Abramsoul. The project which spans through twenty three minutes had the tracks Ye Mama and A Day Money as the outstanding records from the EP.
