Praiz whose real name is Praise Ugbede Adejo is a Nigerian singer, songwriter and performer from Nigeria who has released different smash hits such as Rich And Famous, I Love You and many other songs. He is committed to the R&B genre and once made history as he became the first African artist whose music video was exclusively launched at BET'S Tv program 106 & Park.

Early Life and Career Breakthrough

As a child, Praiz used to listen to a lot of music from Michael Jackson, Barry White and others and according to him, that is what inspired him to become an artist. Being the second out of 5 children, Praiz was born in Lagos but later his father was transferred to Kaduna where they permanently moved to.

His first shot at fame was after participating in the music audition competition known as Project Fame which according to him gave him "public acceptance" after he became the third winner of the competition in 2008.

After Project Fame, he struggled financially to keep up his music and once confessed that he had to do some performances for free and frequently appear on red carpets so that people could not forget his face since then he has worked his way up to become one of the most celebrated artists in Nigeria.

He decided to call himself Praiz a moniker that originates from his birth name "Praise". The singer said that he did not want a different name because he did not want to take far from what people already knew him of in the music industry.

Praiz has also been featured by different heavyweight acts such as VJ Adams in the song When A Man Cries and Bez in that Stupid Song which became the first video in Africa to exclusively premiere on106 & Park on BET Network. This was in 2012 and the music video was directed by Clarence Peters.
