NEW ALBUM: Joeboy Celebrates Love in Its Myriad Forms in Debut Album ‘Somewhere Between Beauty & Magic’

The highly anticipated debut album from the fast rising African Afro Pop star Joeboy is finally out.

Titled ‘Somewhere Between Beauty & Magic’ (SBBM), the album from the Nigerian singer and songwriter was officially unveiled early on February 4, 2021.

The album has been described as ‘a celebration of love in its myriad forms’ even as Joeboy continues his ascent in the music industry.

‘Somewhere Between Beauty & Magic’ houses 14 tracks together with a 9-minute mini-documentary titled ‘Becoming the African Pop Star’ that charts Joeboy’s meteoric rise.

Talking about the debut album in a note released alongside the project, Joeboy said: “Working on this project was life changing – I met a version of myself I never knew before.”

The ‘SBBM’ album was recorded over the last year with a team of producers including such notables as Dera, BeatsbyKo, Killertunes and E Kelly.

On the choice of the album’s title Joeboy said: “The plan was to come up with a title that best describes love, without actually using the word love, hence ‘Somewhere Between Beauty & Magic. Because love is a perfect blend of beauty and magic.”

The new album now available on all digital platforms houses two of the 2020 hit singles ‘Lonely’ and ‘Celebration’ and runs cumulatively for 46 minutes – with no featured artists.
