Tems Says She’s 'The Best Cook in The World', Announces Album Dropping This Year

Nigerian alt-R&B singer Tems has opened up about some of the arguably little known facts about her and music.

Tems who is also a songwriter and producer engaged her Twitter fans in a question and answer session that saw a number of things about her come to light, including a revelation that she is good, not only in making music but also cooking.

During the session under the hashtag # AskTems, the Rebel Gang leader - as she is fondly referred to further told her fans that an album was on the way, this year.

In one of the questions, a Twitter user asked; “When are we getting a new album” with Tems answering in affirmative, “Definitely This year”.

Another user sought to find out how soon the album would be dropping and asked: “Is an album in the works anytime soon?”

“Albums are always in the works mann,” Tems answered.

The singer released her debut EP ‘For The Broken Ears’ in 2020 that has been received positively, with the single ‘Damages’ one of the best performing from the project.

On matters cooking, a Twitter user asked the 25-year-old rising star on what she could do effortlessly, of cos apart from music and she answered: “I’m the best cook in the world”.

There were several other questions about the singer’s music, given that she is part of a new music genre in Nigeria – alte.

She, in one of the answers noted that the inspiration behind her music sound is “The Most High”.

With her recent music video for the single ‘ The Keys’ out, the Q&A session was never going to be complete without a question about it.

“What was the inspiration behind the key video?” asked a Twitter user who added, “It seemed so out of this world. Watched it like a hundred times though.”

Tems answered: “Overcoming the darkness that is in this world, with the light within.”

She also revealed that a new music will be dropping soon apart from saying a collaboration with fellow rising star Omah Lay, can not be ruled out as anything is possible.

The two were arrested when they were in Uganda for a concert in December 2020.

Tems whose official name is Temilade Openiyi was born in Lagos, Nigeria to a Nigerian mother and a British father whose family moved to the Un i ted Kingdom shortly after her birth.

Her parents separated when she was five years old and would later relocate to Illupeju, before moving to Lekki and then Ajah.
