CANDY BLEAKZ BIOGRAPHY

Blessing Akiode, professionally known as Candy Bleakz is a Nigerian rapper and singer, she also goes by the moniker, Ladies Dragon. She was born on the 5th of August 2022 and was raised in Epe Lagos state, southwest Nigeria.

While pursuing a career in music, she was also determined to have a university education which explains why she has continued to stay in school to finish and earn a BSc in Physiology at the Olabisi Olabanjo University in Ago-Iwoye, Ogun state.

With the aim to establish herself as one of the biggest female names in Naija rap and the Nigerian music industry at large, her career started off with her singing for about eight years. Her singing years saw her release a record titled “Blessing Sky” in 2013.

Three years after the release of “Blessing Sky”, she recorded a number of new songs with My Styles Production and also went on to become the first runner-up at the Lagos Talent Show. Now with a recognized promising career ahead of her, Candy Bleakz got the opportunity to perform at the annual Felaboration, a music festival put together yearly to celebrate the life of the legendary Nigerian musician and activist, the originator of Afrobeat, Fela Anikulapo Kuti. At the festival, she got the opportunity to perform twice, eventually winning the Best Rapper Award at the event.

April 2020 saw the release of her new single titled Kelegbe which helped her earn the upcoming Artist of the year award at the Afrika Shrine. She has also performed alongside other top Nigerian artists at top Nigerian music shows and events like Nigezie tenth year anniversary and the popular One Lagos Fiesta.
Candy Bleakz raps in her native language Yoruba and her style of music is very much appealing to the streets. Her lyrics are mainly infused with witty lines and much relatable street slang.

On the 9th of June 2022, she released her latest and first project, a six-track extended play project titled “Fire”. The project was released under her record label, Chocolate City Music. The extended play sees the rapper incorporate her indigenous Yoruba to Amapiano music and also elements of drill on records like “Sango” off the EP. She displayed her versatility by infusing several genres on records in the EP. The extended play project came after her high-profile feature on the record “Baba Nla” which features Dr Dolor Entertainment singer, Teni.

On the 8th of September 2022 in Candy Bleakz joined the long list of Nigerian artists who owns a Mercedez Benz as she shared a post on her Instagram page informing fans of the new development. According to her caption on Instagram, the new purchase was the best thing to ever happen to her.
