Slap Dee Recalls How Bobby East’s Leaked X-rated Video Affected His Career

The chemistry between XYZ Entertainment founder Slap Dee and Bobby East – incidentally the labels CEO – is admirable. Slap Dee confesses that Bobby is one of the two XYZ artists – including the late Daev – who made him so much money.

He say the ‘Toxic’ hit maker remains XYZ’s biggest signing. “He [Slap Dee] has made me the most money,” Slap Dee says adding that this money was from his music and endorsements.

Nevertheless, it has not been all easy for them. The ‘Midnight in Matero’ hit maker recalls an incident where Bobby East was thrust in negative limelight. Some years back, a leaked sex tape nearly ended his musical career.

Slap Dee recalls that after the incident, no endorsements and partnerships came through for Bobby for a long time. Prospective corporates did not want to be associated with Bobby following the incident.

“For about a year, we struggled to get gigs,” he recalls. This taught Slap Dee a big lesson in life about a huge following for the right and wrong reasons.

“I will give you an example. Here in Zed, there are a lot of people with huge engagement and reach but they won’t get the endorsements I will get why, because it is not clean,” Slap Dee explained.

He remarks that he is off the scandalous mark as a celebrity because he keeps his circle of friends real small.
