Addressing the media during her charity drive, Shakira Shakiraa said she extensively read her contract and she is happy with what the label is bringing to the table.

“I have no problem with the label yet. For any record label that signs an artist means they can handle the expenses. They are investing in me because they like my talent,” she said.

Shakira said she took her time and studied the contract that was availed to her, therefore she has no regrets.

"I understood every bit of my contract. They have different contracts they put on the table for you. So you read, understand and choose what works for you; that's what you sign,” she divulged.

Shakira Shakiraa advised artists to first understand the terms of the contracts before they put pen to paper. For the disgruntled artists, she says it would be better if they got their lawyers involved.

"I may not know what happened in their contracts but I advise them to get lawyers. When you are signing something, read and understand to see if it works for you. You can still cancel, but there is consequences to that," Shakira told Spark TV.
