Shakira Shakiraa: Featuring on American Idols Inspired me to Pursue Music

Fast-rising Ugandan artist Shakira Shakiraa has opened up on her music journey, noting that her appearance on American Idols music competition pushed her to pursue music as a career.

In American Idols, several participants from America showcase their singing talent in front of a panel of esteemed judges, for a chance to win a recording deal.

According to Shakira Shakiraa, her passion for music begun back in her high school days, but her participation in the competition made her believe she was born to be an artist.

"I was an entertainment prefect and the leader of music at most of my schools, and a good dancer. When I moved to the US and auditioned for American Idols, I made it to the judges (Simon Cowell). With this, my family and friends noticed that I could sing," Shakira told Spark TV.

Although she did not advance deep into the completion, Shakira Shakiraa did not give up her dream of pursuing music.

Though she is based in the States, Shakira always travels back home for her music projects. At the moment, she has nine songs including 'Celeb' featuring Daddy Andre that is currently topping charts.

Signed under Black Market Records, Shakira Shakiraa says she has several projects lined up with Daddy Andre, Zex Bilangilangi and other top artists.

She is currently trending with her new song dubbed 'For You'
