Nadia Mukami is a celebrated Afropop artist. Nadia boasts of several awards including Afrimma awards as the Best Female Artist - East Africa. She has several projects including her recent album Queen of the East. Here are three Nadia's pop collaborations to get you through your week: 

  1. Wangu featuring Sanaipei Tande. 

Wangu featuring Sanaipei Tande is Nadia Mukami’s 12th studio single . It is the third track off her EP ; The African PopStar. The song hit five million views just 5 days after its release. Wangu is a story between two ladies fighting for a man with both vowing to keep him. The video which was released in the year 2020 quickly caused a frenzy upon release. Sanaipei Tande was suggested to be the queen of collabos following the success of the song. The two blend very well with their storyline making the song a top pop collaboration. 

  1. Jipe featuring Marioo

Jipe is the first track off The African PopStar EP. Nadia features Tanzania's Marioo in the track. Jipe is an Afropop love song revolving around an African couple expressing their love. The song tells off their exes saying that they have found better with the line “This love is not bandia (fake)” Marioo showcases the versatility and the different cultures of the two countries saying “tunapendana kivyetu.” Jipe is produced by Alexis on the beat. 

 

  1. Pete Yangu feat. Bahati 

Pete yangu is off Bahati's album Love Like This . Bahati featured Nadia Mukami in this love song which was released in 2021. The song blew up soon after its release, trending at top 3 respectively. However, Bahati was accused to have stolen the track from Rwandese singer Butera Knowless with her track ‘Peke Yangu.’ iIn an Instagram post, Bahati dismissed the allegations saying the hate was because his album was trending at number 1. Bahati and Nadia blend in the love song with a beautiful harmony taking turns in the chorus. Bahati brings the lines with the boys and Nadia accepts the love with traditional South African attire. The song is currently at nine million plus views.
