Universal Music Group continues to make a mark in the East African music scene with the recent signing of  Bongo Flava star Lady Jaydee. Universal Music Group boasts of publishing music across 60 countries globally. This sees Lady Jaydee’s music having a wider reach worldwide. This signing sees the joining Kenyans hit producer Vic West and Afro Indie artist Njerae joining the music group 

Officially known as Judith Mbimbo , she marks 25 years in the music scene in 2024. Born in 1979 , She began her  music career in 1990 as a rapper. The deal with Universal Music Group - EA coincides with her celebrating her silver anniversary . 

Lady Jaydee is otherwise known as the Queen of Bongo Flava . She boasts among the pioneers of the Bongo Flava genre. Lady Jaydee has been on the frontline in the betterment of Bongo Flava with appearances in major shows across Tanzania as well as through the release of her music. 

Popular tracks by Lady Jaydee include Yahaya , Siku Hazigandi, Ndi Ndi Ndi , Joto Hasira among others. Her music has traversed East African nations including a massive fanbase in Kenya and Uganda. Lady Jaydee has 9 studio albums including Woman (2017) , Nothing But The Truth (2013), Shukrani (2007) , and Binti (2003). She has also won more than thirty awards both locally and internationally.
