Spice Diana Supports Artists who pay for Airplay Despite Criticism

Ugandan musician Spice Diana has offered full support for fellow artists who pay influencers and media to have their songs played, arguing that getting your content to the target audience is key in the entertainment industry.

"Music is a business and you can't be a budding artist and expect to sing your way to the top. You have to invest and everyone has done. You invest to earn. I know music is a passion but it is my business. I have earned a lot because I invest,” she said.

Spice Diana made the remarks after her name came up in a debate on top artists spending lots of money to have their songs played regularly by the media, at the expense of young upcoming artists.

"I don't force people to love me or write about me. Someone plays my music out of their love for me because however much you pay a person a huge amount, you might not make it if it ain't your time. I'm here because of my fans' support and they chose to for their own reasons,” she divulged.

Reacting to a statement by fellow artist Naira Ali claiming that some big artists are bribing media presenters, Spice Diana noted that the message was ill intended and advised her against feeding the young talent negative energy.

 "That statement was so wrong and she should stop feeding the youngsters with a negative mentality. You know how hard it is to make it without investing," Spice Diana said.
