Here’s a review of what the front pages of the newspapers in Nigeria are saying today.On Sunday 22nd of January 2023, a passenger train going from Warri to Itakpe Kogi state derailed, leaving hundreds of passengers stranded. However, the good news is that 148 passengers have now been safely transported to their destination. [Nigerian Tribune]
Kano state commissioner for health, Dr Aminu Ibrahim Tsanyawa has confirmed that the state has recorded 100 suspected cases of diphtheria in 13 local governments. Speaking during a press conference to address the situation Dr Aminu revealed that out of the suspected cases eight were confirmed to have diphtheria and three persons have also been confirmed dead from the disease.
