Petrol scarcity continues to grow worse across the country as on Thursday, long queues were witnessed in different petrol stations in Abuja, Port Harcourt, Lagos, Calabar, Warri and many other places. The few filling stations which had petrol were mostly that of independent marketers and they sold at between N250 and N300. [The Punch]

The Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Ahmed Audi, on Thursday paid a condolence visit to the families of seven NSCDC officers who were ambushed by bandits in Birnin Gwari, Kaduna State. During the visit, he presented cheques of undisclosed amount of money to the next of kin of the families and also announced the approval of one employment slot for each family as a replacement for the deceased officers.
