Who is Jeriq?
Jeremiah Chukwuebuka, popularly known as Jeriq, is a fast-rising Nigerian artist. He was born on 6th May 1998 in Enugu in Eastern Nigeria. The rapper ventured into music at the early age of 15 years.
Jeremiah has an impressive educational background. He joined the Immaculate Conception (CIC) after successfully completing his primary and secondary education. He furthered his education at The Enugu State University of Science and Technology with a degree course in IT.
The youngster officially joined the music industry around 2016 with his debut track ‘Iyoo’. The song attracted a lot of success including a recording deal with Janded Music Empire. He continued to release other successful hit songs under the management of the label. Among the top songs that performed incredibly well at the time was ‘Last Last’ featuring Quincy.
Around 2019 Jeriq rose to be a highly sought-after trap sensation on the Nigerian music scene. He continued rising up the ranks with hit songs such as ‘Paper’, ‘Police Matters’, ‘Hussle O Clock’, ‘No More Nleka’, and many others. The tracks were featured in various top trending music playlists. The themes of his songs were majorly influenced by the street lifestyle he grew up in.
On 6th May 2020, Jeriq released his debut EP titled ‘Hood Boy Dreams’. The EP housed six hot tracks including; ‘No Cap’, ‘Oh Lord’, ‘Remember’, ‘Amen’, ‘Stucc in the Grind’, and ‘Dreams’. The EP was treated to a warm reception among the fans and other stakeholders in the music industry.
Jeriq earned the attention of various major stakeholders in the industry. This led him to get signed under KOD Music Group. The new deal saw Jeriq get in the studio with celebrated Nigerian artist Phyno to produce a remix for ‘Remember’. The remix went viral across various music streaming platforms and gained thousands of views and streams.
Jeriq now ranks among the top artists in the genres of Hip Hop and trap music. He has grown to rank among the top influential musicians in West Africa. The rapper has become successful thanks to his consistency and hard work. His management also contributed greatly to the growth of his music career.
