Who is Efe Nathan?

Efe Nathan is a celebrated Nigerian gospel musician. The singer who hails from Urhobo, Delta State is popular for using music to preach and spread the word of God. She believes that worshipping God is a lifestyle that every Christian should adopt. The songstress was born in a family of 9 and raised in a strict religious environment.

The songster draws inspiration from her mother who she credits for nurturing her talent from a young age. Her mother was a gospel musician too and she borrowed a lot from her. Ina past interview, Efe Nathan nostalgically recounted how she would accompany her mother to the church choir.

Her passion for music manifested at the age of 14. According to the singer's account, she would lead the school assembly in worship songs. She natured her talent with time and grew to become a powerful worshipper who traveled across Nigeria as a music minister. Her official debut in music was while at the RCCG Apapa family where she climbed up the ranks to become a lead singer and worship leader.

Aside from being a worship leader, the songstress was also a backup singer for renowned musicians such as Sammie Okposo, Olufunmi, Mike Aremu, Tosin Martins, Sunny Nneji, and Midnight Crew’s Mike Abdul.

Her contribution to the gospel music industry led her to share a stage with the likes of Ben Okafor of the UK, Michelle Hammond of the USA, and the late Pastor Paul Irabor.

Efe Nathan describes her style of music as Contemporary African Music that stems from ethnicity to create an environment for worshipping and praising God. She released her first album dubbed ‘Rock With Me’ in 2003. She followed it up with other albums namely; ‘A New Level’ and ‘Broken’ respectively.

‘Broken’ housed 20 songs including; ‘Nobody Like You, ‘Still Within the Flow’, ‘We Worship’, ‘God of Everything’, ‘I Give it All’, and many others. The album was met with a warm reception and performed incredibly well on various music streaming platforms.

The celebrated singer is also featured in a number of songs such as This Love by Josh Blayze, Regardless by Leke Fatoberu, Covenant Keeping God by Lanre Paslan and many others

Among the many shows and events that Efe Nathan has graced across the world, the one which remained most memorable to her was Women in Worship at Terra Kulture in 2014. She explained that the concert instilled immense Christian virtues in her. It taught her that as a Christian she should be worried whenever faced with problems as God oversees everything.

Efe Nathan currently ranks among the most celebrated and best artists in the African music industry. Her vast experience in the music ministry has made her a role model to many upcoming musicians.
