A few days ago, rapper KB Killa Beats sparked a debate after opening up on his six months leave from Nexus Music Entertainment where he is the CEO.
During his interview with The Zed Podcast, he explained that he took time off from the label and was away for six months.
Asked about Yo Maps joining the label and getting ‘preferential’ treatment, KB said he was not aware that the ‘So Chabe’ hit maker was moving from Kalandanya Music Promotions (KMP) as he was on leave.

This statement sparked a debate with many questioning how the CEO would take such a long leave that he is not aware what was happening in Nexus.
Some claimed there are wrangles in Nexus and chances are that he could be off the game. To put out the fire, Nexus Music Entertainment board issued a statement stating that KB remains Nexus CEO.
“Please take note that Mr Kaba aka KB, is still CEO of Nexus Music Entertainment Ltd contrary to social media reports,” the board stated.
It added that it was proud of what KB is doing in leading Nexus which has signed the crème de la crème in Zambia.

“We take pride in him leading Nexus Music and has done a fantastic job thus far. He has a five year contract ending in December 2025,” the statement further read.
However, KB says there are differences in Nexus that have made it impossible to run the label. He, however, did not divulge more details about it all.
