Wizkid Wins 2021 MTV EMAs Best African Act

Nigerian superstar singer, Wizkid has been named the winner of the category Best African Act at the 2021 MTV Europe Music Awards (EMAs).

Wizkid won the award during a ceremony held on Sunday, November 14, 2021, at the László Papp Budapest Sports Arena in Budapest, Hungary. He was nominated for the category alongside South Africa's Focalistic, Diamond Platnumz of Tanzanian, Amaarae and Tems.

Wizkid has had an impressive year, making waves internationally with his 2020-released album 'Made In Lagos' that houses a now global hit single 'Essence' featuring Tems.

The MTV EMAs win is just one of the many awards that Wizkid is expected to win this year, with him already being tipped to get a Grammy Awards nomination for World Best Album among other categories.

The singer is currently abroad on his 'Made In Lagos' tour that has already taken him to the United States of America with the UK and later in 2022 expected to round it up with Canada.

Wizkid has already announced that he will drop a new album at the end of the tour. The album is titled 'More Love, Less Ego'.
