Wizkid's 'Made In Lagos' Album Re-Enters Billboard 200 Chart

The fourth studio album from Nigerian singer and songwriter Wizkid titled 'Made In Lagos' has re-entered the Billboard 200 chart.

The 14-track album released on October 30, 2020, has been ranked at number 147 on this week's chart. Billboard confirmed the re-entry of the album in a post on their official Twitter handle on Monday, July 12, 2021. "@wizkidayo's 'Made In Lagos' re-enters this week's #Billboard200 chart at No. 147.," Billboard tweeted.

The album had earlier debuted in the chart at number 80.

The Billboard 200 is a record chart ranking the 200 most popular music albums and EPs in the United States. It is published weekly by Billboard magazine and is frequently used to convey the popularity of an artist or groups of artists. 

The most recent data shared by Charts Africa indicates that the 'Made In Lagos' album has already sold 100,000 total units in the United States of America. Re-entry of the album on the Billboard 200 chart comes just days after Wizkid announced the 'Made In Lagos' North American tour that will see him perform in over 20 different cities.

The album which features guest appearances from British artists Skepta and Ella Mai, American R&B singer H.E.R., Jamaican artists Projexx and Damian Marley and Nigerian artists Burna Boy, Tems, Tay Iwar and Terri have been performing well across the globe.

'Made In Lagos' album managed to set and break several streaming records within one week of release It became the first African album to debut on the Spotify Global Album chart and within the top ten at that.

The album surpassed 100 million streams across five digital music platforms nine days after release which was a huge milestone for an Afrobeats artist.

Several singles from the project have also been performing well on various Billboard charts, with 'Essence' featuring Tems being among the standout record off the album.
