Wizkid’s Essence Debuts on Billboard’s Bubbling Under Hot 100

The hit single ‘Essence’ off Wizkid’s ‘Made In Lagos’ album continues to perform well on a number of charts globally. ‘Essence’ in which Wizkid teamed up with Tems has been among the best performing singles off the album that was released on October 30, 2021.

The song has now debuted at #19 on the Billboard Bubbling Under Hot 100 Singles chart. It becomes the second Wizkid entry into the chart.

Bubbling Under Hot 100 Singles is a chart published weekly by Billboard magazine in the United States. The chart lists the top songs that have not yet charted on the main Billboard Hot 100. Chart rankings are based on radio airplay, sales, and streams.

‘Essence’ which was listed among former US President Barack Obama's favourite songs for 2020 is also currently charting at #1 in 10 different countries on Apple Music. It also sits at #87 on the worldwide Apple Music songs chart.

Aside from this single, the ‘Made In Lagos’ album also continues to perform well globally and it currently ranks at #42 on the worldwide Apple Music albums chart. It also remains the longest-charting album from a Nigerian artist on Billboard.

Wizkid who is the most decorated Nigerian artist ever and one of the most revolutionary Afro-pop artists of the modern era recently announced a Made In Lagos Tour to North America that is set to start in September.
