Fast-rising Ugandan artist Rickman Manrick has shared his view on musicians paying DJs to play and promote their music; stating that it is something he would never do.

A lot of artists have embraced the art of distributing their music to DJs to get airplay in exchange for cash, but Rickman argues that he’d rather pay Instagram or Facebook to run ads for his new music other than paying DJs.

On his official social media pages, the 'Bango' hit maker made his point in reference to most foreign artists like rapper Cardi B who don't pay DJs for music promotions but still get massive airplay.

“I rather pay Instagram or Facebook to promote my music than pay a DJ to play my music in the club. I don’t know what that is but it doesn't sit right with me. If Cardi B ain’t paying am not paying also,” Rickman revealed in a post.

Recently, Rickman lashed out at local DJs accusing them of ignoring local content in preference to foreign music.
