For a long time now, several Ugandan artistes have called out local deejays, television and radio stations for totally ignoring local content in preference for foreign music.

Last year, Swangz Avenue diva Winnie Nwagi felt that Nigerian artistes did not deserve the mileage they were receiving, terming them 'selfish' because they allegedly look down on Ugandan artistes.

According to the 'Jangu' hit maker, Ugandan artistes struggle so much to work with their Nigerian counterparts, but they choose to be selfish and not promote their collabos in their country.

Her sentiments have been echoed by Rickman Marick who expressed his concern on the issue.

The 'Bango' hit maker is bitter with a certain radio station for repeatedly playing Wizkid's song for a long time, while allegedly ignoring Ugandan music.

"I'm listening to a Ugandan radio but you might think it’s Wizkid’s birthday and the Nigerian Independence Day… About 7 Wizkid singles, no features and maybe 3 features that’s like 20 minutes then a 10 second snippet of Ykee Benda's Mr. Incredible, then more minutes of “afrobeat”, a 3 second intro of Fik Fameica...” Rickman tweeted.

The renowned musician divulged that he quickly switched to another station because he could not stand the disrespect.

Ykee Benda was also in unison with Rickman's argument, claiming that it was sickening.

"Man it’s sickening. But we have to keep saying it slowly slowly it will sink in that our people enjoy our music. Give it to them…” he said.
