The on-going online campaign #fixthecountry in Ghana to call upon the government to act on the hardships that people of Ghana are facing has become the talk of day. While many celebrities have joined the campaign, some are reluctant to support it.
Some of the famous celebrities who have joined the online campaign include Joselyn Dumas, John Dumelo, Yvonne Nelson, Efia Odo, Nana Aba Anamoah, Kwaw Kese, and Lydia Forson, amongst many others.

Nonetheless, the top celebrities who are not in support of the campaign include Afia Schwarzenegger Kuami Eugene, and Prince David Osei.
The above mentioned artistes who have not taken part in the campaign have cited various reasons behind their decisions. Whereas some of them believe that change should begin with the citizen’s change in mentality and attitude, others believe that President Nana Akufo-Addo cannot fix the country on his own since he is not the Messiah.

Another group of opposers believe that an online campaign is not capable of anything. Nonetheless, plans of taking the twitter political campaign to an offline physical campaign has been barred by the Ghana Police Service. For example one of the top Ghanaian dancehall musicians Stonebwoy defended his position in the campaign in a post on his twitter account where he said;
“Please if them send you tell Dem say u no see me o.. Which part of the suffering are we not affected by directly and indirectly as Ghanaians? The problem is you the parties politicizing everything. When you know exactly what To Do,”
