Mavin Records New Artist Ayra Starr Unveiled, Drops Self-Styled Debut EP

Mavin Records, one of the top lables in Nigeria has unveiled a new artist.

The unveiling of the new artist - Ayra Starr also coincides with her releasing a debut project, a self-titled EP.

Mavin Records boss Don Jazzy, in a tweet described the new singer as "the most incredible 18 year old girl."

Apparently, Mavin Records has been working with Ayra Starr for over a year now.

"It’s been a fantastic experience working behind the scene for over a year and we at Mavin are proud to present her to the world. Pls follow and join me to welcome to MAVIN @ayrastarr #MAVINACTIVATED," noted Don Jazzy in a tweet while officially unveiling the later addition to his lable.

On her Twitter handle, Ayra Starr said she was honoured to be part of Mavin Records family.

"I am very honored to be part of the Mavin family and excited to go on this journey. Thank you to everyone who has been in my corner from day one . LETS GO!," she tweeted.

With her unveiling comes a new EP titled 'Ayra Starr' - a 13-minute 5-track project that showcases her effective writing skills and polished vocal abilities.

The Benin-born, Lagos-based singer navigates love and relationships in the singles 'Away', 'Ija' and 'Memories as well as addressing teenage angst and vices in 'Ditr'.

In a statement, 'Ayra Starr' EP is described as "a joyful experience shaped by a sophisticated soundscape— electric guitar riffs and subtle percussion merge with her unflappable voice to produce a delicious cocktail of heartfelt and carefree anthems."

Ayra Starr is a first major signing announced by Mavin Records since the unveiling of Crayon about two years ago.

Rema is also signed to the lable.
