Artist of the day: Grandpa Records Amileena

Singer, songwriter and composer Amileena Mwenesi broke into the limelight back in 2010 when she took part in the fourth edition of The Tusker Project Fame show :Although she did not emerge as the overall winner, the talented songstress proved her musical prowess gaining a huge fan base due to her tantalizing, mellow voice.
Amileena took a short break from music after the show to plan ahead since she did not want to jump straight into music without having an idea of what to expect.
After the break, she teamed up with legendary music producer R-Kay and released her first track “Shine” in April 2012 which was a big hit receiving massive airplay across the region.
"The song Shine is an expression of happiness. It is a celebration of the fact that I am finally doing what I love, which is music." she shared.
After the success of her debut single, Amileena took the music scene by storm releasing hit after hit and collaborating with some of the top artists in the industry such as Nyota Ndogo and Collo.
Currently signed to Grandpa Records she is fairing off well currently riding high with her love song “Mawazo” which was released as a Valentine ’s Day special; she also has plans to release her debut album 'Sunshine' sometime soon and showcase to her fans her versatility and ability to mix things up.
