Juliani and Dbanj team up for a good cause
30 January 2014
Kenya’s gospel superstar Juliani and Nigeria’s D’banj aka Koko master have been appointed by the African union as focal artists in a new campaign dubbed #DoAgriculturePetition for the One campaign as AU’s year of agriculture mission and key focus.
The Campaign aims at creating millions of jobs, feed Africa and create a better future if the promises to invest in agriculture and support smallholder farmers are kept.
Juliani will be using his huge online presence on the social site twitter and musical ability to talk about agriculture and encourage the youths in Africa to embrace farming, through his ‘Farming is cool’ campaign tour with Amiran Kenya.
The star will also tour different parts of the country starting with Nakuru on the 14th of February spreading the message.
Nigeria’s D’banj has already travelled to Ghana to meet cocoa farmers in the West African country and listen to their challenges while at the same time trying to encourage more youths to take up agriculture.
People also have the chance to get in touch with the two artists through their twitter handles and ask questions related to the campaign using the hashtag #doagric.
Despite his huge success in the gospel music industry, Juliani is one of the Kenyan stars that is usually involved in awareness campaigns and charity work in the country, recently concluding his ‘Mtaa challenge’ campaign that aimed at creating awareness on HIV/AIDS and drug use among the youths.
