KENYA: Former Rapper Chantelle Opens Up About Her Addictions and How Her Husband J Blessing Changed Her

Former secular singer Chantelle is remembered for her hit song ‘Toklezea’ featuring Abbas Kubaff, which dominated the airwaves four years ago.

However since her marriage to born again producer J Blessing, Chantelle kept away from the secular scene and to the outside world she had changed her ways completely.

But as she revealed, some of her ‘bad’ (some would say non-christian) behaviors still continued into their marriage. And as the singer herself describes, she was an alcohol and smoking addict.

“I used to drink and smoke a lot even after we moved in together. He never ever told me to stop but indirectly, he kept preaching and speaking to me about living a healthy life. That is when I decided to quit,” she said.

“In showbiz business, you undergo many challenges but it feels good to have that one person who truly understands you – that is my husband for me,” she added.
