KENYA: Husband Linked to the Murder of Kalenjin Singer 'Chelele' Arrested by Flying Squad

News of the cold blooded murder of Kalenjin singer Diana Chemutai Musila a.k.a Chelele, broke last week.

And after an audio of her last words before her death surfaced, it was revealed that her husband, a Police Officer, may be a prime suspect in the singer’s death.

The audio which was originally recorded in the Kalenjin dialect and translated into English by former Tahidi High actress and close friend to the late Chelele, Barbara Chepkoech.

“I did not know it would come to a day that he would kill me. Jehovah have mercy on me. Jehovah forgive me. He has tortured our children everyday he holds a knife at me and says he wants to kill me, if I don't sing and bring money he comes and tells me that he will kill me and right now I don't have my children. My only children. This world is bad, his world is bad....don’t delay, be cautious of him they have been taken.”

Those were some of the shocking last words from the audio that have now forced Police to swoop in and arrest the singer’s husband, Eric Musila.

The suspect was arrested by the Police flying squad earlier today in Bomet County and is currently being detained at the Central Police Station in Nakuru.

Earlier Police investigations two witnesses placed the husband and the late singer in each other’s company before she disappeared and later found dead in her home.

Back in 2012 Musila was also accused of killing a land surveyor who he suspected was having an affair with his wife.
