Irene Namubiru's name has been the subject of discussions regarding her support for fellow artists. Speculation arose, claiming that she doesn't actively back her colleagues in the industry, but Irene Namubiru has taken the opportunity to clear the air on this matter.

The talented artist recently appeared on a list alongside Juliana Kanyomozi, both accused of not sufficiently supporting their fellow musicians. However, during a recent interview, Namubiru shed light on her stance and intentions, dispelling any misconceptions.

Namubiru's perspective on attending concerts is clear: she doesn't simply show up at any event. She is discerning when it comes to selecting the concerts she attends, a choice driven by her personal interests. She wants to be in the audience to relish every moment of a show, making sure she is fully invested in the experience.

""I do not just attend any show. I only watch those artists I am interested in, for example, Azawi. I want to be in the audience and enjoy every bit of a show,"" she explained.

It's worth noting that Namubiru goes one step further in her support; she pays for the events she attends. This is a conscious decision, motivated by her desire for a genuine appreciation of talent and a commitment to ensuring that artists receive their due recognition.

""I do not watch concerts for free. I pay for every event I go to, and I want to discover different things and appreciate talent,"" she emphasized.

Namubiru's approach to attending concerts is not about popularity or appearances but about a genuine passion for music and the desire to contribute positively to the industry. It's a choice that reflects her commitment to the craft and her fellow musicians.

Meanwhile, DJ Nimrod, also known as Nimrod Nabeeta, had expressed his disappointment with Ugandan musicians for supporting Juliana Kanyomozi ahead of her concert while feeling that she doesn't reciprocate the same support for them. He voiced his concerns on Facebook, raising questions about the dynamics within the Ugandan music industry.

""This Music Industry can be funny and unpredictable. The way Ugandan Musicians are posting about Juliana’s Show and yet she NEVER posts any of your shows!"" DJ Nimrod lamented.

According to him, Kanyomozi's selective support is evident in her social media activity. She posted about Azawi's concert because Azawi is managed by Swangz Avenue, the same entity that is promoting her upcoming concert. DJ Nimrod's message conveyed a desire for a more supportive and interconnected music industry.

""I love an industry where we support each other or where we support those who support us... She doesn’t deserve the support she doesn’t give,"" he stated.

Kanyomozi, in her own response to the situation, cited a lack of invitations as the reason she rarely performs at shows organized by other artists. ""You have to ask me. You have to invite me if you want me to help,"" she explained in a recent interview.

It's essential to remember that support in the music industry is a two-way street, with artists often helping one another to thrive. Irene Namubiru understands this, as she has been one of the lucky musicians to receive Kanyomozi's support while performing at Club Obligato some years ago.

The complexities of supporting fellow musicians in the industry highlight the intricate dynamics at play in the Ugandan music scene. Namubiru's perspective on attending concerts underscores the importance of genuine interest and commitment, reflecting her dedication to celebrating her peers' talent.
