The Brandy Classic Band stands as a Kenyan bongo band, renowned for their profound harmonious fusion, natural compositions, and purpose-driven lyricism, which set them apart from their contemporaries in the Kenyan music scene. Their journey began in 2021, and since then, they have consistently forged their unique path. They artfully blend traditional Kenyan elements, notably the chakacha style and rhythms, with lively and melodious bongo tunes. Through their music, they tackle bold and edgy themes, captivating a multitude of fans along the way.
Emerging from Nairobi, Kenya, specifically the Mathare area, on July 24th, 2021, the founding trio comprised of longtime high school friends, Jeremiah Okware (JAY DEN BCB), Dancun Ouma (SKYBWOY BCB), and Michael Khalid (ALI KE BCB). Initially, they made a name for themselves as dancers within the G-Snipers Dance Crew, situated in the Huruma-Johnsaga vicinity. It was in this realm that they seamlessly integrated music into their artistic expression. In the same year, 2021, Brandy Classic Band recorded their inaugural single, "Masheri." This track showcased an eclectic amalgamation of romantic tributes, effectively marking their entrance onto the music scene. Following this breakthrough, the band's popularity burgeoned in Nairobi and its surrounding regions. Their subsequent releases, "Yalah" and "Addiction," further amplified their presence.
As they embarked on a trajectory toward bongo-infused sounds, the quartet united to unveil a song tailored for Valentine's Day, an annual celebration of love on February 14th. This particular single, aptly titled "Valentine," was both penned and performed by the members of Brandy Classic Band. Through this composition, they offered a melodious conduit for the expression of affection and emotion on this significant day of love.
