Music Review: Octopizzo 'Sijawahi'

Celebrated Kenyan music star Octopizzo has dominated the airwaves courtesy of his new song dubbed 'Sijawai'. The track has gone viral on the internet gaining approximately two million views in less than a week of its publication on YouTube. 

Octopizzo has further recorded a new milestone in his music career thanks to the song. The rapper became the first Kenyan artist to gain 1 million views on YouTube in such a short time.

'Sijawai' is a fast-paced hardcore Hip Hop track in which Octopizzo addresses various subjects including the domination of Nigerian music in the Kenyan music industry. What makes the song a masterpiece is the fact that its beat is majorly produced from African instrumentals with a contemporary touch. Octopizzo further keeps his audience at the edge of their seats with his fast, rhythmic, and poetic rap.

The music video, on the other hand, is super eye-catching. The creative ideas invested in the location of the shoot and choice of costumes cement the song as one of a kind piece of art. 

The impressive performance of the song has once again confirmed Octopizzo as one of the most sought-after African Hip Hop artists. His music has over the years penetrated the global market; a factor that earned him recognition from the prestigious Grammy Awards.
