Kenyan Hip-Hop musician Octopizzo has pleaded with President William Ruto to reduce the cost of kerosene. In a video that he shared on social media, the rapper explained how the recent hike in the price of fuel has adversely affected average citizens. The 'Ivo Ivo' hitmaker further revisited his encounter with locals who rely heavily on kerosene.

""Today I am at home and people are complaining about kerosene. The price of kerosene has been hiked, and I have not heard even a single member of parliament address the issue of how the price of kerosene should be reduced. So this is a shout out to Mr. President; you are oppressing us. Where I am from we still rely on kerosene to cook and light. You can increase the price of petrol and diesel but not kerosene. You promised to help hustlers, do something about it because people are suffering,"" Octoppizzo stated.

Octopizzo's plea comes shortly after the price of fuel went up by Sh. 15.19 per litre. The Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (Epra) announced that one litre of Kerosene will now cost Sh. 161.13 after the removal of subsidy on the product.

A good number of Kenyans have come out to support Octopizzo's sentiments. The rapper has been showered with complements and praise for standing up for his fans. The multi-award-winning Hip-Hop star is known for being vocal on issues affecting the society.
