Efya Launching New Music Label And Explains Musical Absence

Efya, a celebrated Ghanaian singer has finally opened up on why she took a hiatus in her music career. 
She says that a heartbreak left her crushed and she felt hopeless and hopeless. She did not have any inspiration to keep making more music thereafter. 


The hiatus helped herd deal with the emotional injury in her heart.

“I was heartbroken that I didn’t want to sing. You know I’m a baby girl so the way I feel matters to me a lot and it wasn’t something I wanted to deal with at that time,” Efya recently told AJ Sarpong on 3FM’s Urban Blend show. 

Speaking of her decision to launch a music label, Efya said she gave music her all for 15 years and she wanted a new challenge.

Running a label was her best shot and she doesn’t regret it years later. While Covid-19 pandemic disrupted the music landscape, she left her previous label and decided to hit the ground running with her own label. 
She admits that it is a journey with its challenges but she is content that she is building a bigger future in her music career. 

The Ghanaian singer and songwriter hails from Kumasi and she is the daughter of renowned filmmaker Nana Adwoa Awindor.
