Ghanaian artists Amaarae and rapper Black Sherif have a reason to smile after US Vice President Kamala Harris included them in her African travel playlist dubbed “My Travels: Ghana, Tanzania, and Zambia.”

Harris is currently travelling to three African countries; Ghana, Zambia and Tanzania. Her African visit started in Ghana on Monday and her playlist exclusively made up of African artists is a platform to promote African music to the rest of the world.

Among the most fortunate Ghanaian artist is Amaraae and Black Sherif who she met during her Ghana visit.

“I am releasing a playlist featuring the artists from my travels across Ghana, Tanzania, and Zambia, including many of the Ghanaian and Ghanaian-American artists I met today like @blacksherif_ and @amaarae,” she tweeted. In her playlist is ‘Kwaku the Traveller’ (Black Sherif) and ‘Sweet & Reckless’ (Amaarae).

While Black Sheriff became so popular for hits like ‘First Sermon’, ‘Kwaku The Traveller’ which he released in 2022 broke the seams and made him an instant sensation in and out of Ghana. This song booked him international performances.

For Amaarae, ‘Sweet & Reckless’ is her first single for 2022 released only a week ago. She adopts an R&B style in the song to give it a fully sensual feeling of what and how falling head over heels in love feels like. The song was co-produced by Amaarae, KZ Didit, Cadenza, Kyu Steed, and Yves Rothman.
