Gor Mahia over the weekend momentarily took over the leadership of the FKF Premier League after beating City Stars 1-0.  City Stars successfully defended Gor Mahia's constant attacks until the 58th minute when Benson Omalla penetrated past the defence to score the sole goal of the match. The three points propelled KÓgalo to the top of the league with 27 points. The coup was, however, short-lived as Nzoia Sugar reclaimed its crown on Sunday after a 0-0 draw with AFC Leopards.

KCB recorded a 2-1 victory against Mathare united bringing their cumulative points to 27. KCB's victory was secured by Kennedy Owino and Nicholas Kipkirui in the 3rd and 71st minutes. Mathare United's goal of consolation was netted by Donald Ange.

Nzoia Sugar may have secured its leadership of the league but the storm is not yet over. Salim Babu's boys are only one point away from Gor Mahia and KCB.  The two teams which are holding the 2nd and 3rd positions respectively with a tie of 27 points have displayed an impressive performance in their recent matches. Gor Mahia, appears to be more stable in registering wins as compared to KCB. Nzoia Sugar, on the other hand, has experienced a slight inconsistency in its performance.

Tusker Fc failed to redeem itself after suffering a 1-1 draw with Kariobangi Sharks. The brewers are stuck in the fourth position with 25 points.
