Zambians Divided over Yo Maps Charging K35,000 as Booking Fees

Zambian golden boy Yo Maps is yet in another controversy owing to what a public figure by the name Sarafina claims to be high performance fee he is currently charging.

Sarafina recently reached out to Yo Maps’ manager DJ Kandeke and claims she was charged K35,000 as booking fees.

Pained, she took to social media to lament saying that fame has gotten into Yo Maps’ head to a point he forgot where they both came from.

This sparked a heated debate among fans some supporting the singer while others agreed with Sarafina that this was too much. All this while, neither the ‘So Chabe’ hit maker nor DJ Kandeke addressed these claims.

Innocent JB Bwalya sarcastically said people should let Yo Maps enjoy the fame while it lasts.

“That K35,000 isn't more than $2,000. Let the boy enjoy while it lasts,” he said.

Drexter in yet another sarcasm-filled statement said that “Just because his being referred to as Chris brown.

Wamu Zambia said he shouldn't be hyperbole with the booking fee. On the other hand, Sammy Nkulu said that Yo Maps is worth a lot more.

“He is actually worth more. He deserves that plus he is the most happening artist currently giving us hits on hits. So in my own opinion he deserves every piece of cash and more,” Sammy opined.

Cholwa Chityaba added: “Music is business, ask around how much these main stream artists around the world get paid to just show up. Zambians have such a low thinking capacity to reason that the person booking the artist might make more than that depending on the event.”
